The Bay Port Music Parents Association exists to:
Bay Port Music Directors
The Bay Port Band Program consists of 3 separate concert bands, 3 jazz ensembles, a jazz combo, marching band, 2 pep bands, and colorguard. All students participate in the Bay Port High School Marching Band, which performs at all Bay Port home football games as well as marching in local parades. The concert bands perform in 3 formal concerts each year as well as working on smaller chamber ensembles which perform at our district and state solo and ensemble festivals. Bay Port consistently has more entries selected to continue on to the State Solo and Ensemble festival then any other band in the state of Wisconsin. The Bay Port Band has performed at many high profile national events, such as, the Orange Bowl Parade, Sugar Bowl Halftime Show, Hollywood Christmas Parade, and Orlando Christmas Parade. The Bay Port Wind Ensemble has been selected to perform at multiple Wisconsin State Music Educators Conventions and the Bay Port Music Department is a recipient of a Grammy Signature Award. This award is given by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, yes the people in charge of the Grammy Awards, to only the top school music departments in the nation.
Membership in the Bay Port Band gives students the opportunity to be part of an active, high quality performing group with an excellent reputation. The band is made up of three separate concert groups; Symphonic Band (Freshman only), Concert Band and the only auditioned group the Wind Ensemble. All of the bands combine to make up the Bay Port High School Marching Band. As a member of these groups you can experience numerous performing opportunities, travel, and the thrill of competition; all as a member of the Bay Port High School Band.
The choral program offers any student the chance to involve himself/herself in a non-academic area that is challenging and fun, and receive credit for it. Choir students are given a number of different performing opportunities along with yearly and bi-yearly trips.
We have 6 choral ensembles at Bay Port High School. Cantus (for Tenors and Basses) and Cantare
(for Sopranos and Altos) are non-auditioned groups and open to all students regardless of musical experience or skill.
We also have 4 auditioned choirs. Chanteurs & Bel Canto are treble choirs that are open to sopranos and altos grades 9-12. Concert Choir (mixed choir) is open to singers grades 10-12 and Vocal Ensemble (mixed chamber choir) is open to singers grades 10-12. Students admitted to Vocal Ensemble must also be enrolled in either Concert Choir or Bel Canto.
Membership in the Bay Port Orchestra gives students the opportunity to play strings at the high school level. This program is in its 5th year in the district and students who participate will be part of a dynamic group with performance and travel opportunities.
